AA is a cheapskate! I recently misconnected to the last UA flight out of DEN due to the inbound aircraft being delayed for MX. Booked Grand Hyatt Denver for $260 on my own. Uber round trip $140. UA didn’t blink and mailed a check for $400 without delay, including taxes. Premier 1K status.

I did inquire at the CS desk, and as soon as I heard there was a shuttle bus involved, I bailed. The in-airport Westin wasn’t offered.
