However, in 2022 when I misconnected on an Aer Lingus ticket due to a maintenance issue and was rebooked on UA, AS credited my account as if I flew my original DUB > IAD on Aer Lingus.

Ultimately, YMMV. I'd reference AS' T&Cs above when you appeal to them. Good luck on getting the miles credited.
Thank you, super useful. Hopefully this is just AS newer agents not knowing anything. I miss the days when customer care actually got things right most of the time. I’m also waiting for promises credit that never came for other issues and AS customer care just shrugs anytime I bring it it.
