I would truly appreciate some advice on flights, as I was stranded on a bench in front of the PPT airport for the night during my last trip to Moorea. My flight was delayed from LAX and there was a convention in Tahiti, so there wasn't a room to be had anywhere. I don't want to repeat that experience so will be coming in the day before and overnighting in Tahiti before flying to Bora Bora.

Heading from PPT to BOB I am seeing direct flights around 8AM, as well as noon. I'm thinking the noon flight makes the most sense, as there is generally no need to rush to check into a hotel early, as there may be no rooms available.

In terms of the return flight to the U.S, I'm on the 11:59PM flight on Air Tahiti Nui to LAX. I am not overnighting in Tahiti on the return, as I felt there was ample time to make the midnight flight even if there is a delay getting out of BOB. I'm seeing flights that leave BOB around noon, 4PM, 6:30PM, and 7:30PM. I know there's not much to do at the PPT airport, but am thinking that either the noon or 4PM flight may make sense if there is a delay or cancellation. I just don't know how on-time the AIr Tahiti flights are. I'm also paranoid based on my last experience in Tahiti.

Any guidance would be very much appreciated.
