Currently I have AA Platinum (One World Sapphire), WN A-List+ w/ CP, lifetime Marriott Platinum, Hilton Gold (probably will drop Hilton due to perks at Marriott).

I have started to pivot more travel on AA vs WN, as AA serves my destinations about 80% as well as WN (I have to sacrifice worse departure times about 20% of the time, by 2-4 hours). The MCE seats have been a very meaningful upgrade vs the WN seats (I do occasionally snag the exit row seats on WN but not much of a meaningful difference vs regular seats). The occasional upgrades to first class on AA have been nice as well.

We used to use the Companion Pass on WN quite a lot, but now less so as my family seem to get less enthused about flying domestically over time. As a result, Companion Pass will be far less valuable due to our shifting focus on international travel.

We intend to fly internationally to Asia & Europe 3-5 times per year (mostly in PE class). Add in a few business related trips to Europe & Asia, where I have some long layovers at One World hubs, the lounge access is going to be much more appreciated.

So my thought process to focus on AA status, is to

1) stop traveling as much on WN, except for the occasional times where AA fails (ie canceled my TCON flight 4 hours before flight, have to scramble to find a backup on WN, or AA flight severely delayed and WN flight is on time),

2) use AAdvantage Hotel site to book my hotel stays, and forego Marriott points, since I have lifetime Marriott Platinum, so additional Marriott stays won't matter at all,

3) minimize my use of my WN credit card, obtain an AA branded credit card to earn LP's and AA miles.

I would like some feedback on this train of thought and strategy.
-Are the One World Emerald lounges much better than One World Sapphire lounges? I don't care about alcohol, but do care about a better lounge experience in other ways - showers, better food, better seating, etc.

-Should I shoot for Platinum Pro or Exec Platinum? (it seems for One World purposes there is no point going beyond PP, is this correct?).

Appreciate fellow AA elite thoughts on this thinking and strategy.
