Or a Global Entry card, but this still requires your boarding pass to have the PreCheck indicator. Bonus: it's a
REAL ID document too if it ever gets enforced and you don't feel like going back to your state's driver license office or paying extra for a compliant license.
OTOH,
Canada's PreCheck equivalent, Verified Travellers, requires presenting the physical Global Entry or Nexus card, there's no boarding pass indicator.
