With the free Regency Lounge access -- and the lounge really functions as a large, pleasant outdoor restaurant --- you're getting half-board for those points. You can have the breakfast buffet in either the main restaurant or the lounge. The main restaurant may have a couple more dishes, but they're similar. Dinner in the lounge from 5 to 7 changes everyday. Some days it's like a good resort hotel buffet with free booze, and other days it feels more like heavy hors d'oeuvres, but there's always enough to eat and the food is generally tasty. To get anything better, you'd have to spend most than US$40 pp or leave the hotel. Neither is an attractive option.

The hotel grounds, including the sister Andaz resort, are very nice and expansive. Personally, I don't see the point of paying a lot more to stay at the Andaz. The villas certainly are nicer than anything at the Regency, but they're going to cost you a lot of money. I was only upgraded to a deluxe room at the Regency, but that was plenty large with a sitting room and garden deck. The pool is busier at the Regency (large resort), but the Regency has more and better beach loungers. FYI: the beach is only good to swim at during high tide -- the tide change was like 5 feet. So check the tide chart if beach going is your thing.

Definitely load the Grab and Gojek apps for rides. They work like Uber and are the vehicles are decent. Gojek tends to be cheaper: price both for every trip. The problem though is that Bali is now very much Paradise Lost. The traffic and crowds will make you not want to leave the property, or at least not venture past the pleasant Sanur beach walk. Don't even think of trying to sightsee north from this location: nothing you could see would be worth the terrible traffic. So unless you really love sitting on a beach or by the pool while getting most of your food for free, I wouldn't want to stay more than 3 or 4 days in Sanur at this resort.
We stayed here a week last year and we are returning next week for a two week stay.
We will use it for a base for numerous trips to the north, as we did last year, and we'll try some other adventures to the east and south. Yes, traffic is bad in Bali, but with using a Grab car & driver we still found it enjoyable. Between getting there and back in Qatar Q suites (AA miles) and using Hyatt points and upgrades for a suite, its a deal that can't be beat. Yes the beach is not great but we will enjoy our daily 5:00AM walks before breakfast.
