I am somewhat in a pickle with the following situation:
My bunch of upcoming flights are booked for A-B-C on Delta for the next six months or so in main cabin/C+ and waiting to be upgraded with Globals. Departure airport A always had plenty of availability to use my GUCs - especially during the winter period.
Out of the blue the route (and thus my itineraries) has been taken over by KLM for the first time in history (as far as I know).
Now, for whatever of my booked flights I check to use my GUCs, I'm told by several agents that there is no availability - everything for upgrades is blocked and confirmed by EF - until GUC expiration on 1/31/25
Should I cancel and book different routings on Delta metal to get to my destination and use my GUCs before 1/31, or is this an error and will upgrade availability become available closer to the departure date ?
