The T+C is a bit unclear as it states “you must charge the full amount of the covered trip to the eligible card or in combination with your eligible card and accumulated points on the eligible card or… awarded from a frequent flyer program”. So the latter clause is a bit unclear to me — in your opinion is it covered if we buy the flights entirely with airline reward points, is some of the flights on a multi-leg trip with airline reward points, or some/all of the flights in a combination of charging to the card + reward points (eg a pay with cash+points option)? Or do we need to charge it all to the card? It’s a bit unclear. Also, would the hotel portion of a stay be covered regardless of whether we charge the flights to the hotel (assuming hotel charged to the card) or is the insurance only valid provided the conditions on the flights are satisfied?
