It have take me less than a year to go from Explorer (lower) to Platinum (with XP it take in consideration flights done with Delta (or other Skyteam). But for UXP only AF/KL count).
This is why I write, FF program are mostly "base" for local.

DL does not fly to India so I fly India-Europe-India on either KL or AF. My usual flight path is DEL-AMS-JFK-AMS-DEL. Very rarely do I deviate from that. So DEL-AMS & AMS-DEL is always on KL. If I do decide to switch over to Flying Blue then I'll put all the AMS-JFK-AMS flights on KL as well (currently I use DL for this route).

I also end up doing a couple of DEL-CDG-DEL & DEL-LHR-DEL trips on another airline (to maintain my status there). I could consider shifting those over to KL/AF as well. All that should get me to 900UXP.
