So this is just a ho-hum Hyatt House but i wanted to put in a good word about how it's being run now. I've always kind of liked this property, despite the sometimes squeaky elevator. It has a lot of EV charging in the basement which is a nice perk if you've driven from LA and want to charge up overnight. But this time when I checked in the night manager greeted me enthusiastically as a Globalist and told me he had proactively upgraded me to a corner suite "as a Globalist". He kept repeating the phrase "as a Globalist" which was kind of cute for a Hyatt House. I said thanks and I mentioned that I really appreciated it partly because I knew he didn't HAVE to upgrade me as a Hyatt House, but he just smiled broadly and said "I know we aren't a Regency but we're really trying to provide great service". He then gave me a liter-sized water bottle and asked me if I wanted ANOTHER one, I said one would be fine. I had arrived hungry so I told him I would buy a frozen dinner (organic chicken enchilada bowl which was decent), and he told me I could have it for free AND he would throw in a bag of chips or candy, I took some chips. He then went on to say that they were trying to go above and beyond on the breakfast, too, so although I rarely eat Hyatt House breakfasts I said I'd check it out the next morning.

Verdict: the breakfast is ever so slightly better than a regular Hyatt House, though it's barely noticeable - however they ALSO were serving miso soup and rice (!) Which I have never seen at a Hyatt Place / House before. But the rooms are very comfortable and clean, it was indeed a "corner suite" with wraparound windows which was pleasant, and there are two nice big TV screens both of which supported full blown Chromecast so I watched a movie off my phone. Overall, very pleasant experience. Too bad the breakfast wasn't anything to write home about, but at least I had some miso soup in the morning before I went to my work offsite!
