This is an awesome writeup,
ContinentalFan . I had the pleasure of flying a couple trips with you to Hawaii and EWR earlier this year during my run, and I'm not suprised you're treated well as a 1K at the back of the plane. I'm of the opinion that it has less to do with 1K and more to do with how well-dressed and fun you are to converse with. Always full of stories and a great attention to detail on the aircraft, all tabulated in your legendary excel sheet of course.
Congratulations again on LT GS! Hope you're still motivated to find excellent low cpm fares in the UA MR thread

At the LAX United Club yesterday, an agent informed me that while BE fares do not allow you to pick your own seats in the app - if you check-in and then approach an agent, they will try to move you to a non-middle seat if you're Gold or above. I'm sure there is a component of "don't act entitled/DYKWIA" to this as well. I agree that status sometimes gives you E+ seats on BE fares, I've gotten this even as a Platinum.
