On the plane, the satellite, some another collection point? If on from the plane, how do they know it went anywhere past the router?
I actually looked at a few of my own packet captures, and it was just thousands of re-transmissions. So if they’re counting data, they’re counting failed transmissions over the link. Of course there’s going to be a lot of data transmitted if I’m trying to send a text message with a simple photo attachment and it takes eight hours to complete…. It was the worst Wi-Fi experience I’ve ever had on a flight, yet they claimed I used a ton of data. In 10 hours I might have gotten the equivalent of three or four text messages across and two or three successful page loads from the Internet.
Not trying to be a dead horse on this issue… just sharing general feedback.
