I'm not saying that trading is allowed either, but we'd have to find it elsewhere in the T&Cs.
When reading something like the T&Cs, one can't just pick and choose the words or phrases they want to look at or understand ...

Of course, gifting awards is allowed. Here's an entire sentence from the section of the T&Cs quoted earlier:

"Except as expressly set forth in these Terms, points, awards, membership benefits, and accounts cannot be given away by a Member and are not negotiable, commissionable, or redeemable for cash, and are void if a Member sells, barters, auctions, donates, assigns, conveys, or otherwise transfers them (or makes any attempt to do so) in a manner not expressly allowed by these Terms."

Gifting awards is "expressly set forth in" or "expressly allowed by" these Terms. See Appendix B.II.(a).13, titled "Gifting an Award" and other clauses. Note that the T&Cs don't define the terms "gift" or "gifting" so the dictionary definition applies. While there's many variations depending on which dictionary one uses, they all are along the lines of "something voluntarily transferred by one person to another without compensation". Trading or bartering does not fit this definition.
