IC Sofia
Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes, a wonderful experience!
Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked cheapest room on corporate rate, received a Junior Suite Cathedral View
How are the rooms?
The rooms are modern and appear to be recently renovated. The Junior Suite features a full size balcony with sitting area, as well as a comfortable sofa/coffee table in the room. The bathroom was a full walk in shower with rain head, soaking tub and plenty of room.
How is the exec. lounge?
The Club IC is small, but well appointed. The maximum number of guests I saw at any one time was 6. There is a cooked to order breakfast option as well as some cold items on the buffet. Afternoon tea featured sandwiches and dessert items. The evening selection was a group of canapés, which were all delicious along with an assortment of high quality Bulgarian and a few French wines.
Did you receive a welcome gift?
Yes
How was the minibar?
N/A
What was good and what was bad?
-Good
The hotel is a 2 minute walk from the subway station, which provides quick 25 minute direct access to and from the airport for less than a Euro.
The staff were all lovely and couldnt have been more helpful.
The hotel restaurant had some of the best food I ate while In Sofia, and I ended up having dinner delivered to the Club Lounge two evenings.
Rooms and facilities were modern
The spa was extensive with very attractive rates
-Bad
The gym in the basement is rather small and limited. I realize people dont come to Sofia to work out, but for those into fitness on the road, it is rather limited.
Value for $ or Priority Club Points?
Outstanding
Would you return?Yes, definitely! One of the nicer IC stays I've had in recent memory
