We're visiting the city for a relaxing few nights in winter. Not stayed in either hotel before, and both are a similar price. Diamond with IHG, and could buy Ambassador if staying at the IC (on a late flight, so 4pm checkout would be nice).

What would you go for? It looks like we'll get a much bigger room for the price at the IC, but a worse location. What's the area around the IC like? We've visited Barcelona before - so won't be doing loads of sightseeing - but nice places to walk nearby would be good.

We'd like nice public spaces at the hotel, and a pool we can take a dip in (I know it will be cold, but enjoyed similar in the past). Both of us barely drink, and we'll be eating away from the hotel, so we're unlikely to get enough value from the lounge at the IC to be worth paying for.

We could also save a few euros and go for one of the Indigo hotels in the city. The prices are surprisingly close to the IC and Kimpton, though - so leaning towards going for one of those!
