Access to the JAL lounge was through my BA Gold status.

A question – did you have any Japanese people in your group, or perhaps non-Japanese people who had lived in Japan? I was very impressed at the range of places you managed to visit, some pretty local/authentic (to my eyes anyway!). I had a very brief first visit to Tokyo last year and while I loved wandering around, and found the Japanese people to be very welcoming, I definitely found there to be a bit of a language barrier when it came to bars and restaurants and some places that I just didn’t know where to start, so we retreated to some “safer”/easier options…

Maybe you’re just braver than I am!
Thanks daftboy! There were a couple in the group who had visited Japan before who maybe knew some of the "non" tourist spots and the good places to go to. Definitely agree with language barrier, although with Google Translate, everything is a bit easier nowadays!
