Thanks for your responses I was not sure of any goodwill , no expenses will be lodged as we only paid for a bottle of milk, taxi vouchers were provided by Qantas, as an aside drama followed at Brisbane upon boarding where our names were called out,earlier at Sydney the agent at Domestic requested our Esta documents to input in the system.this caused issues at boarding as they explained that the info was input in the visa field not the Esta field,we were authorised to fly by the US government but not approved by Qantas, unfortunately by then my wife lost it and burst into tears , after 10 minutes or so of calls back and forth trying to delete data they worked it out and we were authorised to fly., for a while we were staring down a second flight in 2 days without leaving Australia.
I will be seeking an alternate carrier for future international flights ex Syd
