Are (many) people in Oz who came for 2-3-4 years and are still here 2 or 3 decades later. The AU sunshine vs UK grey skies convinces many.
QF (OW) status gets you better seat selection. QF does not have the high cash seat charges like BA does,
Some companies have corporate Qantas club membership. At no cost, company paid or a good discount to the retail price. But if you OWS OWE a moot point.

I would give it 6 months before committing 100% to QF ffp (~March 2025). Do both in that time. Will depend on your flying pattern vs spending for QFF vs BAEC (QRPC)
