I didn’t evade any tolls by covering up my license plate. I just threw all of the invoices in the trash. I travel to Canada every month and spend most of my summers up there with my personal car. No one has ever said boo. With call blocking now it is so much easier than before with landlines as now I just get their nasty voicemails. My phone never rings.
I'd agree that the chance of you (or I) being actually charged with toll evasion is pretty remote.
However I don't want to be in a situation where I'm needing to duck creditors by avoiding their calls. My experience has been that old debt never quite goes away until it is addressed in some way.
