Anyone know if we can still use Hertz' PC aisles at airport locations?
I'm not so interested in the points, but more importantly - the Ultimate Choice.
I just did a prepaid Hertz booking. I emailed/tweet Hertz to add my account # but was turned down. I went to the main counter for the paperwork and verification process. I asked them to add my account number in order for my preference setting to populate. I still got pressured on the insurance hard sell. Process took about 10 minutes and off I went to get the pre-selected car. I presume you can go to PC to do the paperwork there as well, just don't expect your name on the board. I've done this on other rentals with Budget/Avis in past. Key is to see who has the shortest line. Obviously the first one you see is on main counter, if no line, just do it right there, because to go downstair/upstair to check on VIP/FASTBREAK/PC/etc. takes time, and you know very well, that your name will not be on the board.
I forgot to add that I didn't get any points or rental credits as well on this prepaid AS rental. But it does show on my past reservation record. The clerk at the main counter mentioned that my spouse had driving privilege, which is part of my status and profile. The savings were amazing, as the prepaid rate was almost 50% off.
