Hi Middle East Travelers,

Traveling back to Doha this winter for a third visit. Seeing as I've done most of the tourist things already (but will definitely be re-visiting Katara and the Pearl), I'm looking to focus my time at a nice resort for a week or so. Sharq Village looks outstanding, but I see the Rixos Gulf Hotel is a newer property that also looks very nice. Are they comparable? Both have very stellar reviews, so it's hard to pick. To anyone who has stayed in both and can directly compare, which is the better resort in terms of quality and amenities? Assuming prices are equal - who wins out in your opinion?

As an aside, in my older age, I find Doha so much more enjoyable than Dubai if only because there are less crowds (at least for now...).

Here's a photo of the meat nashef and hummus and tzatziki from Kamachi restaurant at Katara Cultural VIllage. Hands down one of the best meals I've had in the middle east.
