I think your chances aren't that bleak. Currently J7, maybe a few might get filled by bid-ups at T-48. After that, you'll only be competing with other pax in PY. Granted you're at the bottom of that list. Peeking at 1281 tomorrow, with half of PY checked in, there are only 2 PY pax on the J upgrade list.
