That is seriously good and saves me some hassle. I was prepared to leg it in the dark if necessary. I did this to a nearby hotel at Trieste airport at the beginning of this summer. How on earth does ibis justify EUR20 per direction for their shuttle??
I could just about have swallowed it if it was EUR20 for the round trip, but I would still have balked at it.
In all honesty I once walked to the Holiday Inn in Case Nuove from T1, the road isn’t that bad (and obviously the bus passed me as I was halfway).
Taxis in Italy are one of those entrenched interest groups that make business in the country so damn hard. Can’t find one for love or money, can’t get one to accept a credit card or issue a receipt, costs are Swiss and the service is worse than in Tajikistan. Meanwhile in Spain or Portugal you can get a cab in six seconds flat with an app. I’s rather hop on a leg than take a cab in Italy.
