That's the other thing I don't understand - EI seems to prefer flying with empty Aer Space seats rather than offering promotional upgrades to passengers that are already ticketed on the flight.
I mean going back in and changing an Advantage reservation to AerSpace given there’s no fee. The €6 extra is worth it for the free seat and overhead space, I’d be expensing a drink and snack regardless.
Agreed on your second point. I really don’t understand the benefit to the empty row either. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen the price come down slightly close to the departure date but it doesn’t seem to follow any pattern or consistency.
