ffgap I don't think anyone would say there aren't better places/areas to stay in Frankfurt BUT this is one of the least expensive (and in my opinion nicest rooms in this low price range segment) I have stayed in Frankfurt. If someone wants to save money or is on a limited budget they certainly aren't going to stay right on the Zeil at the JW Marriott (which I have stayed at many times).

I certainly would NOT pick the Niu over another better located hotel if the prices were comparable or even close but fact is the prices aren't. I was just looking for a night in December when I need to be back in the area and other hotels I normally consider in the city came in as follows: HI Alte Oper $144, HGI near Alte Oper $151, Moxy at the Zeil $156 and the Niu at $76. That's a big difference most people might consider the Niu for even if the neighborhood is suspect. There are people that stay in crappy hotels just to save a few $/Euro and here you are staying in a nice hotel in a crappy area to save a few $/Euro....everyone needs to make that decision themselves.
