I skimmed through and didn't see any mention of whether there will be checked bags or which passport would be used. Not having to wait for bags would shave off some time (and avoid the domestic transfer bag drop cutoff), conversely if you can't use the smart gate that would cost some time. If the consequences of choosing a separate fight is a long wait, then I'd personally be willing to try the 1:50 if on the same ticket.
