Aunt's flight MEX-DFW-xxx was delayed by over 6 hours (medical emergency on inbound flight) which would have caused her to spend the night in DFW.
Instead, I had to buy a last-minute coach ticket on Delta to get her home the same day.

1) Is the medical emergency on the inbound AA flight a valid reason for Trip Interruption?
2) Is Aunt covered as 'eligible traveller'? I was a companion on her inbound flight to MEX but not on the return.
3) Will I stand a chance to get reimbursed by Amex for the last-minute DL ticket in coach?
not sure about most of the questions, but based on my reading of the terms, not even convinced an award ticket using card for taxes even activates insurance (no personal experience trying, though).

Last question is almost certainly no. Amex is unique in covering the cost of a new [Y] ticket to re-join trip in progress, but that presumably wouldnt cover the cost of a return.
