That is really poor on a flight where most people want to eat quickly in order to get a few hours sleep. I would write in and complain, not necessarily in the expectation or getting some compensation, but more because BA need to train and impress on their crew the need to get the service done quickly on this route (which as we know is one of their most lucrative).
That’s exactly it. I just wanted to relax/sleep but was also hungry after a long day of travel beforehand. I’m surprised the Inflight Manager didn’t apologise or else perhaps he thought it was acceptable. I’ve flown this leg before but not for a couple of years so wasn’t sure if this - and the absence of champagne - was the new normal.
