I just searched for a few award routes between Europe and Asia and their fees have almost doubled compared to what I paid in the past. I don't think this is a glitch, I remember reading about changes to award tickets a while ago ( https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/36395168-post106.html ) so perhaps this is it or there might be more to come. Now the surcharge for ex-LHR costs as much or more than a fully cash-paid Y ticket on the same route.
