At VCE this morning - very slow checkin procedures due to:

1) Two flights leaving within an hour of each other (0755 and 0845)
2) 4 checkin desks but staff seem unable to work a shift and kept taking breaks ??
3) Insisting passengers connecting on to the US get their drivers license out for address verification which massively slowed everything down as people fumbled around trying to find them

Question: Is it a requirement to show your drivers license (given that you obviously will have already shown your passport) - and what happens if you didn't have one etc etc

I know the Italian's love to see ID but this seems to me un-necessary and resulted in a 50 min wait time to check in (my colleague had a bag to check!)
