I’m thinking of going next year. Do you by any chance know what are the differences from oceanfront hale and beach front hale? Did you see any of the oceanfront hales or get a sense of where they would be in the property? Did they upgrade you to the beach front hale from entry level?
As I wrote above, I paid $1800/nt for a beach front hale which is the going rate. No upgrade and I did not expect one since I booked the highest non-suite rate. And, I wanted beach front so a suite upgrade would have put me far from the beach and that view in a garden/mountain/lagoon view. Upgrades are not always welcome.

Ocean Front look out onto the ocean but no beach; some have a pathway in front of the hale, thus reduced privacy. Beach front are directly on the beach and look out onto the ocean. Although there is not a path, guests do walk on the sand in front of the hale. Same size, same furnishings. The former is a bit less expensive than the latter.

The resort is huge and sprawling but level. There’s a reason bikes are provided gratis. There are maps searchable on google and the Rosewood website. You need to study a map to get an understanding of the layout to assist your choice. Only you can do that.

I very much like the hard product, my hale on the beach, the gorgeous landscaping and the location on the island. I was disappointed that F&B was so outrageously expensive (yes I know it’s an island and prices generally are high). Quality is pretty good but not outstanding. Cocktails are downright mingey. Menu variety is poor. I pay for meals and drinks for one so I get a break. The tab for a couple or family would, in my view, be staggering. There is a kiddie menu but its prices are not especially small.
