It's some sort of dish/meal/snack with bugs mixed in, so I think you can safely assume the bugs are dead. It even says "What bug dish will you get," so it's a take your chance and see what you'll get kind of thing. Billed as a "superfood" and a great source of protein no less. I've also read where bugs are being ground into powder and used in flour for baking. Perhaps a bug katsu sando is in our future.
