It’s interesting to observe how much people (at least seem to) care about the personal recognition on board. For me that is a « nice to have » and the least important part of the ULTI value prop. No waiting in lines, a good call centre, a blocked neighbour seat, space in the lounge, etc. - all those « hard » benefits are much more important. I wouldn’t trade the expeditious passing of the immigration controls in CDG 2E against all the kow-tows in the world from cabin staff.
I like both personal recognition and hard benefits. There is no reason why they should be separated from each other and somebody should trade one to another. If you earned the status, you must get both.
