A Hyatt chat rep I spoke with today told me "The suite upgrade award is valid on the 1 Bedroom King Suite or the High Floor 1 Bedroom Suite", but I haven't reached out via other channels yet to see if I get a similar response.
IME studio suite rooms have been offered as Globalist upgrades at this property, but they have never been possible to confirm in advance via a Suite Upgrade Award. The original intention appeared to be to offer an extremely limited number of 1 bedroom suites on the non-upper floors so that they technically were offering inventory for Suite Upgrade Awards despite these "standard suites" never actually being available. The primary purpose of having a small handful of 1 bedroom suites on the non-upper floors seemed to be to block access to confirmable upgrades to the more plentiful studio suite rooms, so I can't imagine they'd ever reverse course entirely and offer the studio suite rooms as "standard suites".
That is to say that the upper floors *have a similarly limited number of 1 bedroom suites to the regular floors* so adding this additional extremely limited "standard suite" inventory doesn't actually do much for Suite Upgrade Award availability. The inventory is still almost non-existent. It still primarily exists to protect the Studio Suite room inventory.
That's always been my experience. You cannot apply SUA to studio suites and 1 BR Suites don't show up on searches. So I don't both even checking anymore.
