You'll get 1400 or close to it if you exchange USD cash (new $100 bills) at most places. That's what I did last month. Your accommodation should be able to recommend a trustworthy place to change money. When I was in BA last month, the newsstand directly in front of my hotel did the trick quite nicely.

I got 1260 with a not-new $20 bill (I want to have some pesos to add to my collection) from the shop that the Park Hyatt recommended and felt pretty proud of myself.
I will be traveling to BA next month and was wondering how necessary it is to have new 20's or 100's to exchange?? I've asked at two of my financial institutions for new bills and both said they don't provide them any more. It's "whatever comes out of the machine". I'm hoping to use Visa mostly but will have some cash, both dollars and pesos with me. Thanks for any advice that can be provided. It's my first time there.
