Finished my 2 night stay and not sure I would return. First night it took moving mountains to get them to move our room to one that was in better condition. Customer service of front link reception is really poor - they have hard time communicating or understand issues. But next day we spoke with the assistant manager who really took care of things by promising to move us to a junior suite that opened up. While we had breakfast he stopped by and apologized that the room wasn’t ready so they had something special in store for us.
Later that afternoon he stopped by the pool to find us and gave us the new keys … to the Zanzibar suite. A very nice upgrade. And they sprayed the room before we got there and later at turn down. Good thing too since there was evidence of many dead mosquitoes. Suite is always welcome upgrade but it was a really strange layout with entry door then dining and living room upstairs and a narrow and steep stairway down to bedroom. Much of the suite was not working including safe, sockets, outlets, windows etc. It’s in the older building too so windows don’t close well. It’s right above the pool and they pump fairly loud relaxing music 24/7 which you can clearly hear in the suite, especially the bedroom. Mosquito netting was even more poorly installed in this room as well.
As for the rest of the property the breakfast is nice with a la carte items, Arabic coffee and fresh coconuts. Pool is welcome but beach area very meh - nice to look at if facing left but turn right and it’s an industrial harbor.
Glad I stayed here but would likely not return at this price point, maybe if it was half the going rate.
