But, after talking to Etihad several days before the flight, it was added. MS double checked that the AAdvantage # was in the booking when she checked in for her flight at the airline counter 3 weeks ago. She was told it was there. However, no miles have been awarded on AA as of yet.

It is not possible to request missing miles on the AA website as it does not recognize the ticket number and the AAdvantage number combination and keeps giving an error of a mismatch. The e-ticket number does not have the std. 13-digit format. It has 15 digits and a hyphen. Using the first 13 digits did not work either.

MS contacted AA 2 weeks after her flight and the agent agreed that missing miles from partner airline flights cannot always be requested online on the AA website. But he took all the information and said that the request has been sent to Etihad. MS received an email about the mileage request sent to Etihad. It says it can take up to 30 days for miles to be credited and that if they (AA) need anything else, they will send an email to MS.

Meanwhile, accessing MS's booking on the Etihad website does show her AAdvantage number in the Loyalty Programme Number field even though the airline name is not shown. MS will fly back later this month on the same ticket. So we will find out when/if any miles are awarded on AAdvantage.
Our flight isn't until next year. So I can't provide any additional data on this for awhile.

But since the EY website shows the Advantage number on their MMB page, I hope a screenshot will be adequate documentation for a missing miles request to AA.
