Hibiki was previously offered in specific maturities such as 17yr and 21yr which I thought were good taste and quality for an industrial blend. Suntory stopped selling those but kept the "meets requirements to be called whisky" version. Hopefully I'm way off but without a minimum maturation this looks a bit like a Veblen version of the Harmony product.
