Well if doing that then probably JER is the best bet because it is a short flight, very easy B2B and you can potentially save on APD, though you'll need to check the fares of course.
I would query though is it worth flying in on BA and connecting via LON vs taking an LCC (or indeed IB etc) direct to your starting point. If doing it for the TPs you need to factor in the cash cost of BA positioning flights - likely high. And if doing it on award tix, well then no TPs so a direct LCC flight might be better anyway. There aren't really any options from the EU direct to JER, but there a plenty to MAN, EDI, GLA for example.
