If in Manchester or thereabouts then MAN is probably still the best option. If coming from elsewhere then of course it will also depend on how easy it is to position (car/train/plane?!) from your base to the relevant airport...
I would fly in from the EU on BA, and then eventually leave on BA to an EU airport. Cannot link those flights to a BAH trip because of the rules stating a UK origin and return.
