Don't see why not. There are routes that do or did mix mainline and AC Express just as there are routes that flip between mainline and Rouge.
Up to AC whether they want to use that option to maintain a bare bones schedule in Canada/North America.
For a few days, YWG will be the main hub of AC!
I am pretty sure I flew YVR to ORD on a CR9 before. From YWG I believe major cities of Canada can be covered.
