Instead the idea of give everything on a single tray was to reduce crew interaction as part of COVID measures.
With QF having a near monopoly for Business Class across the Tasman they have no incentive to improve the offering.
To be fair, US carriers did the same. They still are. A lot of the premium service never returned on US domestic "premium" routes. Food is terrible.
To lesson the fall so to speak, I only fly Trans-Tasman on the heavy aircraft (A330/787) as this at least provides more comfort in J.
