Been enjoying a couple of beers while not being checked in at the Sheraton in Palo Alto. It's a franchise, so staff is blaming Marriott, and not offering any compensation or help with getting to a different hotel. It's pretty sad when I'm being treated better at the airport than at the hotel. Second time this week that Marriott is forcing me to go stay somewhere else (while still charging me for the pleasure).
I can best you on this. Back in the early 1990s when the property was a Holiday Inn, my mother and I and all other guests got shut out of the hotel for hours while the hotel was under lock down searching for an alleged assailant with a gun.
