1. Allow
North American on-line check-in 24 hours before the first flight for everyone. Right now with even 1 tran-border segment in an itinerary, you can't. One result is the u/g chances for the flights or out of a hub (e.g., IAH) go way down for Elite members who are either coming out of Canada or going into Canada - like me! I've noticed a drastic decline in my upgrade rate since on-line check-in commenced in the U.S.
2. If you're not going to offer 24-hour advance on-line check-in, have your FA's take it out of their on board spiel because it's not true for trans-border.
3. For your Elite phone lines for 'international' travel eliminate or fix the "enter-your-zip-code" part of log-in as it simply adds to the time on the phone for non-Americans - or alternately tell people to punch in ##### as you go straight to an agent
