SCL-MCO is available on AA for about the same price as the LA flight ($1126 on AA) one way, but also on AA there is SCL-SJU which is available on very select dates for $950 one way and which you could terminate in south Florida pretty easily. Not bad for the deep South America to US one way fares, there are many examples where a business class mileage award from US-South America plus a paid return can be a good deal for the roundtrip in comfort. ex-GRU and ex-EZE work for AA, a bit more $$, around $1500 one way. Last year AA had GRU-US-MEX fares that allowed a free stopover in the US for about that one way and we snagged GRU-MIA connecting to what is now scheduled as MIA-LAX on a 77W. DL and UA tend to have similar fares.
