That said, in about 4 visits so far, I haven't ever been unable to find a comfortable seat, or had to wait more than 15 minutes or so for a shower, or faced empty food or drink stations. The staff seem to be very efficient at handling the crowds.
The crowdedness is another and equally problematic issue, but I'm specifically talking about how there are at least two other lounges (you could potentially make a case for the CX lounge as well) that are objectively better at SQ's home base. Not to mention SQ's lounges are a couple of levels below the premium competition's (CX, JL, NH, QF, QR, etc) home airport lounges in APAC.
It's not a bad lounge per se (food is not bad, drink selection is decent etc), but it's the flagship lounge of an airline that's aspiring to be one of the world's best - and it's not nearly reaching that level.
So while I agree SQ needs more (or alternatively bigger) lounges, they definitely need to step up in the quality of their lounges as well.
