CX494/495 looks interesting depart at 1020am butt back 4pm so you waste a full day really. My cx 488/489 at least waste half day only (land back 1230pm). CX464/469 pairr departe even earlier but its not easy to get to HKIA for 7am flight on airport express.

btw TPE transfer NEVER asked to check my onward boarding pass... i wonder what happens if one day they did and i had no boardIng pass.
How do you guys select the exact TPE-HKG flight to begin your itinerary on? When I do an online search for TPE-HKG-XXX, the TPE-HKG sector is always one of those flights that originate from Japan (e.g. CX531/NGO-TPE-HKG or CX451/NRT-TPE-HKG).

Do you have to call CX when making the booking to specifically to request a TPE-HKG flight where the inbound aircraft is coming from HKG (e.g. CX494/CX495)?
