Yeah they aren't going to pay comp for a voluntary change. It makes complete sense for the airline to open up flight change options like this as a means of alleviating an oversell without having to pay out compensation, and I'd wager it works a good percentage of the time.
The funny thing is AS has a similar program and gives you a few dollars ~$25 and people still complain on the AS board.
I don't get it - it's totally voluntary. If you don't want to change just delete the email.
