My apologies if this question has been answered elsewhere. I searched the GUC post-2022 thread and only found a partial answer and would like something more concrete.

I am flying to BKK in December. On the return, BKK-ICN-DTW-LGA, I have a 1hr 5min connection in ICN and a 1hr 20min connection in DTW. This is too close for comfort, but I am unable to change the flights at this point because they are award tickets (booked using SMs).

I want to apply GUCs to ICN-DTW or BKK-ICN-DTW. I am already booked in PS on this ticket. My concern is that if I miss the connection in ICN and have to be booked on another flight, will I lose the GUC or will I be accommodated into D1 or Prestige on a different flight? If there is no space for D1/Prestige, will I lose the GUC? I think it may make sense to only apply the GUCs to ICN-DTW instead of BKK-ICN-DTW if this is the case. What do you all think?
