CDG-LIS today. My first time trying AF J within Europe and I won the lottery - they happened to serve stuff I like Main and dessert were very tasty, the cheese was a bit disappointing (bland).

I wasn't too happy with the service initially. First of all, we boarded at early but the flight was delayed so there was over 40 minutes between me boarding and the pushback - and I was on a second bus to the plane, some people spent 50 minutes on board before departure - but despite that there was no water offered before take off, etc. Then once the service finally started, it began by serving meals to rows 1-4, then switching to drink service for this row and only then begining with (combined meal+drink) service for rows 5-8. Being in 5A, I wasn't too happy with how long it took for me to get a drink after running through CDG.

But the crew was sweet, as always on AF, and very proactive with further refills so from the moment I got my meal, I was quite happy with the rest of the flight. Would I pay normal fare for this product? Absolutely no. But when traveling on a bad day, like today, it is worth the OLCI upgrade price tag.
